The obituary for Levi Julian Antrim, as found in the Mabel Record, 7 Apr. 1933
Levi Julian Antrim, who had resided in Winneshiek and Fillmore counties most of his life, died at his home in the village early Wednesday morning, at the age of 78. He had been confined to his bed suffering intensely from a complication of ailments for two months immediately preceeding his death.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1:30 at the home, and at 2 o'clock at the Mabel Methodist church, with Rev. W.R. Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Hesper public cemetery.
Mr. Antrim was born in Indiana March 18, 1855. He came with his parents to Winneshiek county in 1858, and was united in marriage to Kate Welch April 28, 1875. They have resided in the village since the spring of 1899. In 1925 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
Mr. Antrim is survived by his widow; one daughter, Matie E. Antrim, at home; one son E.P. Antrim; and two grandchildren. The eldest daughter Rose W. Antrim died July 22, 1920. Two brothers and three sisters also survive, namely: Wm. P. Antrim of Montrose, S.D.; A.R. Antrim of North Sacramento, California; Mrs. Jennie Darling, Decorah, Iowa; Mrs. Ed Amburn, Montrose, S.D.; and Mrs. A.J. Hughes, Mitchell, S.D.
