Mrs. Sila H. Hendrickson died Monday at the home of her son Helmer in Decorah, aged 76 years, 10 months and 25 days. Her maiden name was Sila B. Holverson. She was a sister of Bård Holverson of Decorah and was born Sept 6, 1827, in Borgend, Norway. In 1850 she came to America and settled at Yorkville, Wis., where she was married the same year to Hans Hendrickson. In 1852 they came to Glenwood Township, this county, to make what continued to be their home until fourteen years ago when Mr. Hendrickson died. Twelve years age Mrs. H. came to Decorah to reside and during her last years lived with her son. Of eight children six survive her. They are Henry, Martin and Helmer, Mrs. Ole Teslow, Mrs. Hans Teslow, and Mrs. John Hill. The funeral was held yesterday, a brief service at the house at 11:30 am preceding the service at 12 p.m., and the remains were taken to the Glenwood cemetery for burial by the side of her husband. Rev. I. B. Torrison officiated. Thus another pioneer mother is laid at rest.

Mrs. Sila B. Halvorson was born in Borgund, Lærdal, Norway, Sept. 6 1827, and came to America in 1850, locating at Yorkville, Wisc., where she was married to Hans Hendrickson and two years later removed to Glenwood township, Winneshiek county, in 1852, where she lived for many years. Her husband died in 1890, and for the past twelve years she has lived in this city. Eight children were born to them, six living, Henry, Martin, Helmer, Mrs. Ole Teslow, Mrs. Hans Teslow, and Mrs. John J. Hill, all of whom live in this county except henry, who recently move to Howard county. She has been sickly for about a month past, and on Monday after at four o'clock passed quietly away at the home of her son Helmer. The funeral services will be held this Wednesday morning from the home at 1:30 and the First Lutheran church at 12:00 o'clock, Rev. I. B. Torrison officiating with the interment in the Glenwood cemetery. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, an d will be mourned by a large circle of friends.
