Ellenore Boyum

Ellenore Boyum, 81, of Rushford, Minn., died Feb. 10, 2001 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

Friends may call at Hoff Funeral Homes--Cook Rushford Chapel Thursday, Feb. 15 from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. at the Arendahl Lutheran Church with Peter Huggenvick officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery, with Hoff Funeral Homes--Cook Rushford Chapel handling arrangements.

Ellenore Holland was born Jan. 11, 1920 at Sebeka, Minn., Ottertail County, to Elmer and Inger (Agrimson) Holland.

She graduated from country school and Sebeka High School in 1946.

On Oct. 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Chester Boyum at the Paddock Bethel Church in Sabeka.

The couple farmed in Utica, Minn., until Chester Boyum died in 1992. Ellenore Boyum, a long time farm - homemaker, was multi-talented and enjoyed rosemaling, china painting, oil painting, painting porcelain dolls, quilting,
flower gardening and floral designing.

Her family, cousins and friends played an important part in her life. She was a long time member of Arendahl Lutheran Church, a Sunday School teacher, served as president of the Ladies Aid, and served on various other offices and committees. She was a member of the Peterson Garden Club and served as president for several years, was a member of Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, a member of the Iowa State China Club and the Sons of Norway in Lanesboro, Minn.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Boyum of Rushford and Shirley and Orvin Helgemoe of Utica; four grandchildren: Tim and Laurie Helgemoe of Utica; Mark Helgemoe of Lake City, Minn.; Matt Helgemoe of Utica and Sara and Brian Beck of Ramsey, Minn.; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Silas and Lillian Holland of Peterson, Minn.; one sister, Bernice Swanberg Golden Valley, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Ellenore Boyum was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a twin sister, Evangeline, and a brother, Amos.
