Ann Baker
Ann Baker, 92, of Decorah, died Saturday, April 28, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
There was no visitation, as the body was cremated.
Memorial services were held Monday, April 30 at First Lutheran Decorah with Rev. Steven Jacobsen officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Richard Blauer, Kyle Sherman, David Simenson, Gary Simenson, Richard Simenson and Ronald Simenson.
Organist was Marcia Engebretson. Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah handled arrangements.
Ann S. Simenson was born Nov. 14, 1908 in Decorah to Oscar and Anna Simenson.
She was confirmed at Big Canoe Lutheran Church, and a graduate of Spring Grove High School.
She married George Baker Sept. 10, 1949 in Cresco. He died in 1963.
Ann worked as a secretary at Baker Lumberyard. She also worked at Conner-Knight Clothing Store and Elaine's.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church and a member of Deaconesses,
She was also a former member of the Elks Club, Oneota and Silvercrest Golf Clubs and Rebekka Lodge.
Ann Baker enjoyed golf, playing cards, socializing and being with her family.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Barbara Hinz of Decorah; two sisters-in-law, Verna Simenson of Decorah and Corinne Simenson of Mabel, Minn.; one niece, Yergene Miller; five nephews: Gary, David, Ronald, Richard and Robert Slmenson; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ann S. Baker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and four brothers, Earl Herbert, Eugene and Paul Simenson.
