Jacqueline Harms
Jacqueline Harms, 82, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 9, 2001 at Garnett Place Assisted Living in Cedar Rapids.
Friends may call at the Suris Funeral Home, 1207 Alden St., Alden, Iowa, Thursday, April 12 from 4-8 p.m.
Funeral services will take place Friday, April 13 at 3 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Alden, Iowa, with Rev. Darwin Moore officiating.
Burial will occur at Alden Cemetery.
Jacqueline Irene Wallace was born April 27, 1918 in Alliance, Neb., to Bedford and Claire (Mastrud) Wallace.
She graduated from Edgemont High School and Grinnell College.
She married Richard Harms on July 15, 1941 in Deadwood, S.D., and worked as a teacher at Alden Community School.
Jacqueline Harms was involved in ISEA, NBA, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers Association, Order of Eastern Star, Order of Rainbow for Girls and Iowa Herford Auxiliary. She also served as church organist and was Involved in many other church functions.
Survivors include four daughters: Sharon and Terry Shaffer of Cedar Rapids; Nancy Simonis of Escondido, Calif.; Telanie and Tom Raulerson of DECORAH and Debbie Harms of Clarence, Iowa; seven grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren and one sister, Regina Weight of Lee's Summit, Mo.
Jacqueline Irene Harms was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Harms in 1981; and two brothers, Roger and Burdette Wallace.
