Oleva Haukoos

EDITOR'S NOTE: The following obituary was recently received by a Decorah Newspapers correspondent.

Oleva Haukoos, 95, of Story City, Iowa, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 12 at St. Paul's Lutheran Free Church in rural Jewell, Iowa.

She is survived by four daughters: Betty Ehrig of Grundy Center; Lyla Kalvick of Story City; Barbara Schweppe of Stanhope and Mary Beth Rhinehart of OSSIAN; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Oleva Haukoos was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Haukoos; a son, Harris Haukoos; a granddaughter, Marsha Rhinehart and infant twin grandsons.
