Marjorie Ann Larsen
Marjorie Ann Larsen, 66, of Chicago, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, in her home with family, friends, cat and hospice friends present.
Marjorie willed her body to the Anatomical Gift Association. Memorial services in Chicago and DECORAH will be announced later.
She was born May 22, 1934, in DECORAH. Margie graduated from Decorah High School in 1952. In 1956, she graduated from Luther College. She majored in physical education and taught in Iowa and Illinois.
Later, she was a manager of two different Chicago health clubs, Fullerton and Cumberland, for 27 years. She earned trips to California, Hawaii and London.
Margie's love for animals was extraordinary. She rescued several dogs and cats, which were a high priority in her life.
She is remembered as a special, caring, loving person who always helped others. She had many friends.
Surviving cousins are Beth (Jim) Kabat, Marilyn (Arnold) Veglahn, Chellis (Audrey) Evanson, Kathryn Rettig, Cindi (Barry) Greenburg, Myron Peterson, Gerald Peterson, Mark Dalbey, and June Kjome and their families.
Marjorie Ann Larsen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Norma (Peterson) Larsen; step-mother Gilma; aunt Verna Dalbey; and her Larsen and Peterson grandparents.
