Gayle Adel Hartley
Gayle Adel Hartley, 83, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at the Powell Nursing Home after a long illness.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
She was born May 7, 1917, the daughter of J. A. and Mabel Headington of Decorah. Upon her marriage to George Harold Hartley, they moved to Seattle, Wash.
Gayle was a cosmetologist in Iowa and Washington State. After the death of her husband, Gayle moved to Cody, Wyo., in 1971 to be closer to her family.
She was happy in her work at the MMJ Beauty Salon in Cody.
Survivors include her step-mother Phoebe Headington, sister Nora Sharp and brother Milo Headington, all of Decorah; daughters Jane Pawley of Cody, Wyo., and Virginia Payne of Powell, Wyo.; grandchildren Rob Cruz of La Quinta, Calif., N.J. Pawley of Park City, Utah, and Lynn Kondash of Cody, Wyo.; and four greatgrandchildren.
Gayle Hartley was preceded in death by her husband; her sisters, Phoebe Hensel and Maythel Headington; and brother Benjamin Headington.
