Raymond Boyer

Raymond Boyer, 79, of St. Lucas, died Wednesday, March 21, 2001 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in West Union following a lengthy illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial service was held Saturday, March 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke's Catholic Church in St. Lucas, with Rev. Marvin Salz officiating. Lector was Duane Boyer, and music was provided by organist Kathy Meyer and the St. Luke's Choir.

Casket bearers were: Sara Boyer, Josh Boyer, Brian Rausch, Robert Trevino, Dennis Boyer, Jr. and Marvin Krivachek.

Interment was at St. Luke's Catholic Cemetery in St. Lucas, with Chekal Funeral Home in FORT ATKINSON handling arrangements.

Raymond John Boyer was born May 6, 1921 in St. Lucas; the son of Adam and Margaret (Ott) Boyer.

He attended St. Luke's Catholic School in St. Lucas. Raymond Boyer worked as a farmhand near St. Lucas, and then for the Rath Packing Plant in Waterloo.

He then owned his own truck and hauled cream to St. Lucas and butter to Dubuque. He ran the meat market in St. Lucas for a few years and then was the maintenance engineer at St. Luke's Catholic Church for several years.

He married Evelyn Krivachek Oct. 11, 1948 at St. John's Catholic Church in FORT ATKINSON.

He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Raymond Boyer raised chickens, ducks and turkeys as a hobby, and enjoyed gardening, fishing and coon and deer hunting. He also liked watching his children race cars and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Boyer of St. Lucas; one daughter, Carol and Robert Trevino of SPILLVILLE; two sons: Jerome and Lya Boyer of CALMAR and Rodney and Brenda Boyer of St. Lucas; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene Boyer of St. Lucas and Dennis and Maxine Boyer of St. Lucas; and three sisters, Sister Margaret Boyer, OSF of La Crosse, Wis.; Flavia and Norbert Lechtenberg of FESTINA and Arlene Boyer of Worthington.

Raymond John Boyer was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Adam Boyer, and three brothers: Leonard, Andrew and Larry Boyer.
