Dolores Davis
Dolores Davis, 76, of Cresco, died Monday, April 9, 2001 in Minnetonka, Minn.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 11 at St. Joseph's Worship Center in Cresco, with Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating.
Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Dolores Davis was born Feb. 26, 1925 in OSSIAN to Mary and Hugo Kleve.
Her family moved to Cresco in 1929 and she lived in the Cresco area until moving to the Twin Cities in late 1998.
She married Derrill Davis July 18, 1945. They farmed north of Cresco, where they raised dairy cattle, beef cattle and prize-winning corn until retiring in 1981.
Dolores Davis was active in many local organizations over the years, including being a board member for the Howard-Winneshiek Community School District, Cresco Public Library and Evans Memorial Home.
She was a member of the Howard County Historical Society, Farm Bureau Women's Club, Cilo Club and St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Lynn Davis of Edina, Minn.; three daughters, Cheryl Basztura of Trumbull, Conn.; Dr. Constance Davis of Athens, Ohio and Marcia Davis-Cannon of Mountain View, Calif.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph and Roger Kleve of Cresco; five sisters, Ann Scharnweber, Joan Carolan and Marie McAllister, all of Cresco; Jeanette Chwialkowski of Bloomington, Minn., and Diane Bohr of DECORAH.
Dolores Davis was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and her parents, Mary and Hugo Kleve.
