Lucille Bergan

Lucille "Sally" (Aird) Bergan, 93, originally from Lansing, died Aug. 1, 1999. Her body was given to science. Her ashes were buried Sunday Sept. 10, 2000, beside her husband, Hal Bergan, at Oak Hill Cemetery at Lansing, lowa.

She was born in Lansing Sept. 12, 1905. Her mother was from France and her father was from Scotland. She was the last survivor of five brothers and three sisters.

Lucille graduated from Michigan State University and spent all her years teaching to the day of her transition.

Her hobbies were sports, sewing and collecting antiques.

Survivors include a son, Clifton "Kip" and Gaylene Bergan and three grandchildren, Abel, North and Sheena.

"Sally" was not only a teacher to all her students, but is remembered as an inspiration to all who knew her.

In attendance at the burial of her ashes were her son and his wife, Clifton and Gaylene Bergan of Denver, Colo., niece Sue Aird Borg and Frank of Eau Claire, Wis.; and brothers-in-law Allard and Ken Bergan of DECORAH.
