Leonard Walter

Leonard "Sonny" F. Walter, 60, of Dixon, Illinois, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 9 at 10:30 a.m. the Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon with the Rev. Walter S. Philbrick, associate pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Dixon officiating.

Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

Leonard "Sonny" Walter was born March 5, 1940 in DECORAH, the son of Howard and Pearl (Blaess) Walter.

He married Catherine L. Masterson on Oct. , 26, 1968 in Dixon.

He worked for Dixonweb for 39 years as a lithographer, and was a member of the Dixon Moose Lodge for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife Catherine of Dixon; three sons, Ray L. Masterson and Toy and Roxi Allen, both of Dixon, Tim and Connie Allen of Franklin Grove, Illinois; two brothers, Wayne and Margaret Walter and Erlin and Wanda Walter, both of DECORAH; three sisters, Verna Sampson of Canyon Lake, Texas; Darlene and Don Richards of Omaha, Neb.; and Ferneva and Bob Brimacomb of DECORAH.

Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
