Nina V. Jagerson

Nina V. Jagerson, 87, of Decorah, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1999, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at 11 a.m., at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah with the Rev. James Dale officiating. The Rev. Kristen Kvamme was the organist.

Inurnment was at the Freeport Cemetery. The body was cremated. The Fjelstul Funeral Home handled arrangements. A lunch was held at the funeral home after committal.

Nina (Folsom) Jagerson was born May 2, 1912, on a farm near Postville, the daughter of Richard and Mabel (Harris) Folsom. She went to Postville Schools.

On Feb. 4, 1930, she married Lester A. Jagerson, Sr., from Decorah. They had one son, Richard Arthur Jagerson.

Her husband had the Texaco Station and Nina rented out the cabins. She also had a lunch room she ran at one time.

Survivors include her granddaughters, Barbara Jagerson of Austin, Minn., and Becky and Jim Jahr of Cresco; three great-grandsons, Jamie Jagerson of Minneapolis, Minn., Aaron Jagerson of Austin, Minn., and Shawn Kalvelage of Cresco; one stepson, Bud Jagerson; brother Donald Folsom of Postville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nina Jagerson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester, who died Sept. 21, 1978; her son, Richard, who died April 25, 1979; an infant sister, and a sister-in-law, Ethel (Donald) Folsom.
