Beatrice Wallace

Beatrice "Bea" Wallace, 58, of Clear Lake, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at the Muse-Norris Hospice In-Patient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 14, at 11 a.m., at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clear Lake. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph Slepicka officiated.

Burial was at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. The Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel of Clear Lake handled arrangements.

Bea (Sabelka) Wallace was born Aug. 1, 1940, in Decorah, the daughter of Gust and Marie (Loesch) Sabelka.

She graduated from Mt. Mercy Academy in Cedar Rapids in 1958, where she served as senior class president.

On June 29, 1984, she was united in marriage to James Wallace at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake.

She was a Clear Lake resident for more than 30 years and was deeply involved with her church, St. Patrick's. Her family and church were quite important.

Her hobbies were painting and crafts, gardening and bird watching. She also enjoyed quilts and flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Jim of Clear Lake; her mother, Marie Sabelka of Elma; a daughter, Jill Sheridan of Des Moines; two sons, Chad and Michelle Sheridan of Des Moines, and Todd Sheridan and fiancee Charlene Connelly of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Sandi and Paul Roberts of Rowan; a stepson, James 'Tony' Wallace of Chicago, IL.; four grandsons, Luke Maring of Clear Lake, Travis and Chris Roberts of Rowan and Joe Maske of Des Moines; brother-in-law Romuald and Florine Elsbernd of Spillville; and an aunt, Angie Loesch of Spillville.

Beatrice Wallace was preceded in death by her father; two sisters, Dorothy Elsbernd and Sister Germaine; and a daughter, Theresa Sheridan.
