Beth Charlene Rocksvold

Beth Charlene (Finholt) Rocksvold, 48, of Decorah, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services were, held Friday, July 7, at 1 p.m., at Canoe Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Decorah, with the Rev. Susan Debner officiating.

Connie Bolson was the organist. Music included "Angel," "Amazing Grace," "On Eagle's Wings" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives."

Casket bearers were John Juve, Gregg Rude, Garic Hjerleid, Mike Juve, Gary Hovden and Adam Martinson.

Interment was at the Canoe Ridge Lutheran Cemetery. The French & Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Beth was born July 10, 1951, in Decorah, the daughter of Chester and Barbara (Quanrud) Finholt.

She was baptized and confirmed at the Canoe Ridge Lutheran Church and graduated from Decorah High School in 1969. From 1969-73, she was employed by Bell Telephone.

She married Peter Rocksvold in 1973. To this union a son, Andy, was born.

Beth was most recently employed by Meehan, Leeper and Schwartz as an optometric paraprofessional.

She will be remembered for her bubbly personality, her concern and devotion to her friends and family, and her enjoyment of antiques and jewelry.

Survivors include her son, Andy and wife Kim of Decorah; her father, Chester Finholt of Decorah; her sisters, Kaye Hackman and husband Donald of St. Lucas, and Keri Freienmuth of Chanhassen, Minn.; brother Robert Finholt and Liz Calvert of Decorah; nieces Holli Hackman and Kaitlin Freienmuth; nephews William Hackman and Kyle Freienmuth; aunts Harriet Forde, Cora Volding, Thelma Keefe, Leverne Headington and Jenanne Vikre, all of Decorah, and Eunice Anderson and husband Marvin of Cresco; and many cousins and friends.

Beth Finholt Rocksvold was preceded in death by her mother in 1994, and a brother in infancy.
