Jodene Broderick

Jodene Anne Broderick, 32, of Mason City and formerly of Protivin, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in Clear Lake, as the result of an accidental drowning.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 19, at 11 a.m., at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, with the Rev. Allen Schmitt celebrating the mass.

The pall is to be placed on the casket by her two brothers. Music for the service will be provided by Verda Mikota as organist and Colleen Busta as vocalist. Lector for the service will be Maureen Busta.

Casket bearers will be Joe Rosonke, Jeff Rothus, Chad Larson, Steve Pettit, Scott Petersburg, Peter Blodgett, Gary Pecinovsky and Allen Pecinovsky.

Honorary bearers will be Jean Ann Rosonke, Lisa Brown, Cherie Flatjord, Glenda Bodensteiner and Nancy Hagensick.

Interment will be at the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Protivin.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18, from 3-9 p.m., at Hugeback's Protivin Funeral Home, with a 4 p.m. scripture service. Further visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 8-10:30 a.m.

Jodene was born June 6, 1967, in Cresco, the daughter of John and Judy (Pecinovsky) Busta. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Protivin and was a graduate of Turkey Valley High School in 1985.

In 1987 she started working for the IMI Cornelius Co. in Mason City, where she had currently been employed as a buyer.

On April 9, 1994, at the Lakeside Church in Clear Lake, she married Terry Broderick.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mason City. Jodene mostly enjoyed being with her family and friends, and spending time with them on their boat.

Survivors include her husband, Terry of Mason City, and three children, all at home, Kyle David Gonnerman, Kole William Broderick and Kallie Jo Broderick; her parents, John and Judy Busta of Protivin; two brothers, Jeff and Sue Busta of CALMAR and Jayme and Kandi Busta of Atkins; her father- and mother-in-law, William and Alice Broderick of Lansing; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Jodene Broderick was preceded in death by a brother, John James Busta, who died in 1962; paternal grandparents William and Viola Busta; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Martha Pecinovsky.
