Pauline Bouska

Pauline Bouska, 79, of Protivin, died Monday, June 4, 2001 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.

A Mass of Christian Burial service was held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin Thursday, June 7 at 11 a.m.

Rev. John Moser and Rev. Clarence Frana officiated.

Music was provided by organist Marlene Pecinovsky, soloist Collen Busta, the Holy Trinity Czech Choir. Additional music was a polka by Marceline Fraria.

Casket bearers were Pauline Bouska's grandsons: Brad Lensing, Luke Bouska, Terry Bouska, Jeremiah Bouska, Charles Meyer, Jr., Kristopher Haskovec, Jason Bouska, Lance Bouska, Liberty Bouska, Dexter Lensing and Tyler Hemesath.

Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Protivin, and Balik Funeral Home in Spillville handled arrangements

Pauline Emma Bouska was born May 29, 1922 to Joseph and Anna (Humpal) Frana on a farm near Spillville.

She attended St. Wenceslaus School, and married Francis Bouska June 2, 1941 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville.

They farmed near Protivin and moved to Protivin in 1999.

Pauline Bouska loved to go shopping, enjoyed dancing to polka music, traveling, taking pictures, gardening and doing things with her family.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Czech Choir and the Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Francis Bouska of Cresco; six sons: Francis Bouska Jr. of Freeport; George and Kathleen Bouska of New Hampton; Quentin Bouska of Minneapolis, Minn.; Joseph and LaVonne Bouska of Fort Atkinson, Jerry Bouska of Fort Atkinson and John Bouska of La Crosse; four daughters: Kathleen and Charles Meyer of Waterloo; Anita and Richard Hemesath of Ossian; Pauline and Kenneth Haskovec of Cresco and LaDeane and Marvin Lensing of Cresco; 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Pauline Emma Bouska was preceded in death by her son, James and his wife Deborah in 1984; four grandchildren: Alan and Joel Meyer and Caroline and Michael Bouska in infancy; her parents, Joseph and Anna Frana; three brothers, Adolph, Joseph and Martin Frana and six sisters, Mary Snyder, Antonia Hrdlicka; Bozena Koudelka, Adelinne Berst, Emma Petrick and Lydia Ann in infancy.
