Robert Flaskerud

Robert D. Flaskerud, 73, of Tama, died at his home Monday, March 6, 2000.

Graveside services were held Monday, March 13, at 2:15 p.m., at the Calmar City Cemetery.

Visitation was held Monday from 1-2 p.m., at the French Funeral Home in Calmar, which handled arrangements.

Robert was the son of the late Elef and Gunhilda (Smithling) Flaskerud, born Jan. 6, 1927, in Calmar.

He was a veteran of the United States Army in World War II, from 1945-47, serving in Japan.

Robert was formerly a route salesman/driver for Kleen Maid Bakery in Waterloo.

He was married to Blanche Greenwood March 30, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They lived in West Union and Waterloo most of their married lives.

Survivors include children Ken and Cheryl Flaskerud of West Des Moines, Donald and Norma Flaskerud of Pleasant Hill, Calif., Roger Flaskerud of Reno, Nev., and Steven Flaskerud of Ross, Calif.; five grandchildren; one sister, Miriam Langum of Scotts Valley, Calif.; and three brothers, Kenneth of Plymouth. Minn., Paul of Palo Alto, Calif., and Tom of Reno, Nev.

Robert Flaskerud was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Blanche.
