Dorothy Halse

Dorothy Halse, 69, of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at the Allen Memorial Hospital from complications of surgery.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m., at Trinity American Lutheran Church of Waterloo, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.

The Kearns, Huisman-Schurnacher Chapel on Kimball in Waterloo is handling arrangements.

Dorothy (Vick) Halse was born May 31, 1929, in Decorah, the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Hovey) Vick.

She married Thomas L. Halse Nov. 8, 1959, in Decorah.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 328 and the Waterloo Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 764.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas; two daughters, Nancy Heinz of Minneapolis and Roxanne Gillis of Waterloo; three brothers, Herbert Vick of Mason City, Frank Vick of Decorah and Harold Vick of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.

Dorothy Halse was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
