Helen Lucille Enyart

Helen L. Enyart, 80, of Decorah, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, at the Aase Haugen Home, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Waukon, with the Rev. Larry Olson officiating.

Casket bearers will be Steve Pierce, Chris Johnson, Scott Enyart, Obert Johnson, Chuck Jenkins and Mike Pahl.

Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Waukon. Martin's Funeral Home, Waukon, is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Lucille (Johnson) Enyart was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Decorah, the daughter of Ole and Gina (Bringsjord) Johnson. She grew up in Decorah, was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, and attended the Decorah Schools. She was married to Carl Guisen of Calmar.

On Nov. 21, 1941, she was married to Russell Enyart in Kohoka, Mo. She worked with Russ at Enyart Ford Dealership at Waukon. From 1966-83, they lived in Orange County, Calif., where she was a bookkeeper for Russ' Radiator shop. In 1983, she moved back to Decorah to be closer to the family she enjoyed.

Helen was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge of Decorah, and formerly of First Presbyterian Church when she lived in Waukon. She also enjoyed bingo and embroidered.

Survivors include two sons, Gary and Susie Enyart of LaFayette, Colo., and Alan and Judy Enyart of West Union; a stepdaughter, Nola and Norbert Palmer of Waukon; four sisters, Evy and Merlyn Pierce, Franny Johnson and Thelma Pahl, all of Decorah, and Gladys Harold of Fremont, Neb.; two brothers, Merlin Johnson of Dubuque, and Donald and Shirley Johnson of Decorah; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Helen Enyart was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russell Enyart; her son, Bruce Enyart; her daughter, Barbara Jenkins; and her step-son, Russell Lee Enyart.
