Hank Snyder, 40, of Decorah, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at work, after a sudden illness.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Big Canoe Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Andreae officiating.

Burial took place at Big Canoe Lutheran Cemetery. Fjelstul Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Organist was Kathryn Thompson-Bigler. Soloists were Mary-Lou Rauk, who sang "In the Garden" and Rev. David Andreae, who sang "On Eagle's Wings". The congregation sang "Beautiful Savior", "In the Garden" and "Children of the Heavenly Father".

Pallbearers were Rick Snyder, Jeff Snyder, Gary Snyder, Jeff Turner, Scott Erdman and Dan Barth.

Hank Snyder was born March 25, 1960 to Judy (Thompson) Snyder of Decorah. He graduated from Decorah High School in 1978 and completed a Tool and Die course at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar.

He married Deb Iverson on April 19, 1980 in Decorah. The couple has two sons, Josh and Michael.

After working at Deco Products in Decorah for 14 years, Hank worked as a tool and die maker at John Deere in Waterloo for the past two-and-a-half
years.

Hank enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He loved being with family at all the family gatherings, and also liked movies, reading, music, cooking and grilling. Hank enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include his wife Deb Snyder of Decorah, sons Josh and Michael of Decorah; his mother Judy Snyder of Decorah; three brothers and one sister: Rick and Kris Snyder of Cedar Falls; Jeff Snyder of Decorah; Gary and Tammy Snyder of Waukon and Gordie and Todd Neubauer of Cresco, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Stanley and Darlene Iverson of Decorah.

He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Greg and Sheila Iverson of Decorah, two sisters-in-law, Diane and Jeff Turner of Decorah and Kathy and Bruce Demsky of Waterloo, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Hank Snyder was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nellie and
Charles Snyder and Irene and Nathan Thompson.
