Beverly D. Lawson

Beverly D. Lawson, 61, of Burr Oak, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at the Northgate Care Center in Waukon, following a short illness.

Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at 2 p.m., at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton, with the Rev. Hans Floan of Burr Oak Lutheran Church officiating.

The French & Balik Funeral home handled arrangements.

Beverly D. was born May 22, 1938, in Sioux City, the daughter of Arthur and Kathleen (Bergmann) Rakow. In 1947, Beverly moved with her family to the Burr Oak area.

She graduated from high school in Canton, Minn., in 1956. After high school, Beverly worked for a short time in Cedar Rapids.

On Jan. 13, 1957, she was married to Richard Lawson at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church. After marriage, she worked at the Burr Oak Store.

Beverly enjoyed flowers and doing puzzles. She was a member of Burr Oak Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Lawson of Burr Oak; one son, Dennis and Wanda Lawson of Decorah; two grandchildren, Justin and Brittney Lawson of Decorah; one sister, Frances and Charles Schnitzler of Burr Oak; three nieces, Patricia Johnson, Cathy Widmoyer and Laura Recker; one aunt, Marjorie Darling of Burr Oak; two uncles, John Bergmann of Denver, Iowa, and Marvin Bergmann of Bluffton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Beverly Lawson was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in infancy.
