Jay Becker

Jay Becker, 88, of Augusta, Ga., and formerly of Deborah, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at University Hospital.

Funeral services were private and Platt's Funeral Home of Evans, Ga., handled arrangements.

Jay Becker was a retired road construction superintendent.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Becker; a daughter, JoAnn Mullan of Augusta; two brothers, Earl Becker of Rowley, Iowa and Gerald Becker of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Beier of Winthrop, Iowa and Joyce Fairchild of Oelwein, Iowa; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service Held For Becker June 5 in Garnavillo

Gravesite memorial services for Jay Becker, of Augusta, Ga., and formerly of Decorah, will be held at the Garnavillo cemetery Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 11 a.m.

Becker, the husband of Maxine Hyde Becker, passed away April 19.

They were long-time residents of Decorah and northeast Iowa prior to their move to Augusta.

Fellowship for family and friends will be held at the Cedar Lodge, located 5 miles south of Harpers Ferry immediately following the internment.
