Harold Swehla

Harold Swehla, 73, died Nov. 11, 2000 in Germantown, Wisc.

A Memorial Mass was held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls, Wisc. Private Interment took place at St. Wenceslaus Church in SpilIville.

Harold L. Swehla was born on April 8, 1927 to Lewis and Eleanor (Herold) Swehla in Mason City. He graduated from Mason City High School in 1945
and joined the Army Air Corps. After service he attended Drake University.

In 1951 he married Marvyl Kiser. The couple had two children.

In 1952, Harold Swehla graduated from the University of Iowa. He worked for Continental Can Co. for 30 years as a supervisor and retired in 1982. Harold wintered in Lake Helen, Fla., for 15 years and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls for 42 years.

Surviving Harold Swehla are his wife, Marvyl, two children, Mark and Therese of Charlotte, N.C. and Mary and Stephen Kronshagen of Germantown. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Lindsey Emmer, Samantha, Andrea, and. Zachary Swehla and Tyler, Nicole and Kelley Kronshagen.

Harold Swehla was brother-in-law of Muriel Fox of Mason City; Charles and Evelyn Kiser of Gaithersburg, Md.; Edith Kiser of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and Ron Kiser of Muscatine.

Harold L. Swehla is further survived by an aunt, Viola Harold of SpilIville; a cousin, Ethel O'Byrne, of New Hampton; a cousin, Luella Benda of Spillville and a cousin-in-law, Joyce and Chuck Swift of Clear Lake.
