Virgel Alfred Rosendahl

Virgel Alfred Rosendahl, 74, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m., at the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, Ark., with the Rev. Richard Jebsen officiating.

Handling arrangements was the Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory.

Virgel was born Oct. 24, 1924, the son of Alfred and Violet Rosendahl. On March 2, 1947, he was united in marriage with Arlawayne "Arly" Doerr.

The couple moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1986 from Mount Vernon. Virgel was a member of United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista.

He had worked for Iowa Steel and Iron Works for over 30 years. Virgel enjoyed bowling and also was a member of the Bella Vista men's 18-hole golf association.

Survivors include his wife, Arly; two sons, Keith and Nancy Rosendahl of Decorah, and Brian and Carla Rosendahl of Kearney, Mo.; one daughter Donna and Norman Zimmerman of Monticello; four grandchildren; his mother, Hanna Violetta "Violet" Rosendahl of Decorah; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Rose) Peterson of Decorah and Audrey Brickner of Maquoketa; and several nieces and nephews.

Virgel Rosendahl was preceded in death by his father and one sister.

Family members request memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
