Stella Jonetta Myhre

Stella Jonetta Myhre, age 89, of Dodgeville, Wis., formerly of Spring Grove, passed away Sat., May 27, 2000 at the Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home in rural Dodgeville.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Waterloo Ridge Church in rural Spring Grove. Pastor Arndt. F. Braaten officiated at the service. Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Stella Jonetta Myhre was born on July 5, 1910 in Quandahl, Iowa to Sven and Netta (Langlie) Overhaug.

She was baptized at home and reaffirmed her baptism at Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church. For her education, she attended the Sacquitne School.

On July 15, 1933, Stella married Julian Myhre. They made their home in the Hesper and Spring Grove area until 1955 when they moved to DeKalb, Illinois.

In DeKalb, Stella worked at Geographical Book Binding until 1975 when they moved back to the area. She then took a position with Mansfield Industries.

Stella's husband, Julian, passed away Sept. 25, 1983. Stella lived in the Spring Grove Manor until 1997 when she entered the Bloomfield Manor Nursing Home of rural Dodgeville, Wis.

Stella was an active member of Waterloo Ridge Lutheran Church in rural Spring Grove, was a former member of the Sons of Norway and an active member of Spring Grove SEMCAC. She was awarded a volunteer of the year for her community involvement.

Survivors include one sister, Thelma Lane of Spring Grove, Minn.; three sons, Gerald of Belmont, Wis., Jerome of Austin, Tex. and Mervin of Bloomington, Wis.; one daughter, Virginia Howard of Strum, Wis.; nine grandchildren; twenty-five greatgrandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

Stella Jonetta Myhre was preceded in death by her husband Julian; her granddaughter Julie Howard; four sisters, and five brothers.
