Doris Mae Styve

Doris Styve, 74, formerly of Decorah, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove, after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21, at 11 a.m., at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah, with the Rev. Tom Miller officiating.

The Rev. Marion Miller was the organist. Hymns included "How Great Thou Art" and "Just a Closer Walk with Thee."

Casket bearers were Walter Steele, Lyle Steele, Ronald Ramsey, Curtis Steele, Edward Steele and Lee Nagel.

Burial was at Phelps Cemetery. The French & Balik Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Doris Mae (Ramsey) Styve was born July 30, 1924, the daughter of Gilbert and Olga (Kvamme) Ramsey.

She attended country schools and married Erick Styve May 29 1943. To this union two daughters were born, Esther and Dorothy.

Doris was a housewife all her life, never working outside the home.

She had resided in the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove the last few years.

Survivors include her daughters, Esther and Raymond Peck of Decorah, and Dorothy and David Anderson of Eagle Grove; three grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; brothers Norman Ramsey of Decorah and Raymond Ramsey of Burr Oak; and sisters Gertrude Steele and Grace Steele, both of Decorah.

Doris Styve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erick; and one grandson, Jason Anderson.
