Patricia Mary Burch 1929-2001
Patricia Burch, 72, of Ossian, died Tuesday morning, July 3, 2001 in Decorah.
A Celebration of Life service was held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian Saturday, July 7 at 10 a.m. with Msgr. Cletus Hawes officiating.
Reader was Brother Adrian Powers, FSC. Organist Alan Sensor and soloist Don DiLaura provided music. Jamie Burch, Katie Kuhn, Brian Kuhn and Rachel Burch provided gifts.
Schmitz Funeral Home of Ossian handled arrangements.
Patricia Mary Burch was born to Bill and Ruby (Powers) Murphy in Ossian Jan. 8, 1929.
She received her education at St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Ossian, graduating in 1946.
She was united in marriage to Donald Burch Sept. 12, 1953 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian.
Patricia and Don Burch lived in Minneapolis, Minn., where she worked for NW Bell Telephone Company after transferring from the Decorah office.
In 1970, they moved to Agoura, Calif., where she worked as a dietary supervisor.
Upon their retirement in 1988, they returned to her home in Ossian to spend time with her grandchildren and her sister, Ramona Drilling.
Patricia Burch enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time visiting with friends and family throughput the 'country. Some of her favorite past times were gambling with nickels and making mug rugs while sitting in "Ramona's garage".
Survivors include her husband, Don Burch; two sons, Kevin Burch and Stephen Burch; two daughters, Beth Ann Kuhn and Susan Denning; one sister, Ramona Drilling; seven grandchildren and one uncle, Brother Adrian Powers, FSC.
Patricia Mary Burch was preceded in death by her parents.
