Madonna Mae (Denning) Daniels Cook

Madonna Cook, 72, of Ossian, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisc.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, with Msgr. Cletus Hawes officiating.

Organist was Deb Scheidel, and Lector was Jerry Linderbaum. Offertory was provided by Jeffery Coins and Tamara Gross.

Interment was at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, with arrangements by Balik's Ossian Funeral Chapel.

Madonna Mae Denning was born Dec 31, 1928 at Waukon to Francis and Lillian (Deeney) Denning. She attended school at Ossian and Waukon.

She married Charles A. Daniels April 9, 1948 in Colton, Calif. He died in 1957. In 1960 she married Edward G. Cook in Colton, Calif. He died in 1980.

Madonna Cook worked many years as a cook at the V. A. Hospital at Leavenworth, Kan., and in 1995 moved back to Ossian. She enjoyed traveling and visiting family.

Surviving Madonna Cook is her son, Craig and Dolorina Daniels of Colorado Springs, Colo., daughter Cheryl and Paul Goins of Bryans Road, Md.; a brother, Parnell Etteldorf and Claudia Young of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren: Tamara Gross and Jeffrey Goins, Melisa Daniels, Jacquelyn and Jennifer Money; and three great-grandchildren: Katelyn Gross, Ryan and Alyssa Goins; an aunt, Esther Linderbaum, and many nieces and nephews.

Madonna Daniels Cook was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles Daniels and Edward Cook; two sons, Joseph Daniels and Kevin Cook; a daughter, Pamela McCombs; a grandson, Michael Daniels; and a brother, Francis Denning.
