Walter Peterson
Walter Hudson Peterson, 82, of Decorah, died Thursday Jan. 25, 2001, at Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
No visitation or funeral was arranged as the body was cremated. Fjelstul Funeral Home of Decorah handled the arrangements.
Walter Peterson was born Aug. 1, 1918 in San Antonio, Texas. He received a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Chicago. He served as a Navy Lieutenant in World War II and worked as a psychologist in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. He was a member of the American Psychological Association.
He was united in marriage to Grace E. Trepagnier Sept. 15, 1938 in Bessemer, Mich. To this union four children were born.
Survivors include his wife, Grace of Decorah; four children, Jill (Michael) Stephenson of Dorchester; Eric (Jessica) Peterson of Vancouver, B.C.; Gretel (Charles) Winterwood of Dubuque; Barbara Peterson of Madison, Wis.; a sister, Elizabeth (David) Dellinger of Vermont; 15 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Walter Peterson was preceded in death by his parents.
