Everman, Bruce Owen -- 1955 - 1998

A memorial service for Bruce Everman was held Saturday, April 18, 1998 at 2 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia, IA. The Rev. Dave L. Lenth officiated. Marlys Hager was the organist. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Inurement was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia, IA.

Bruce Owen Everman, the son of Leon and Arlene (Engelhardt) Everman, was born September 23, 1955, in the Postville Hospital, Postville, IA. He was baptized October 23, 1955 by the Rev. Edgar Zelle and attended Sunday School and Luther League. He was confirmed May 25, 1969 by the Rev. Arthur Tolo in the Zion Lutheran Church at Castalia.

He was graduated from Postville Community Schools May 18, 1973, and from Luther College in Decorah, IA in June of 1977. Following graduation he moved to Minneapolis.

On June 7, 1980 Bruce was married to Kris Small in the St. Phillip's Lutheran Church at Fridley, MN. They lived in north Minneapolis where Bruce was employed by Red Line Medi Mart and later by Precision Diversified, Inc. as a computer programmer.

Bruce enjoyed softball and was a member of the Castalia team in his youth. He also played tennis and softball while living in Minneapolis. Bruce loved sports and had favorite teams such as Iowa, the Twins, but especially the Green Bay Packers.

He is survived by his parents, Leon and Arlene of Castalia; a brother, Byron (Sandy) Everman of Castalia; a sister, Luann (Dave) Haberichter of Billings, MI; nieces and nephews, Wesley, Anthony and Lexie Everman and Brandie, Luther and Amy Haberichter.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Lena Everman and Edwin and Anna Engelhardt; an aunt, Jeanette Everman; two cousins, Stan Anderson and Scott O'Hara.
