Olga (Qualley) Berg was born Jan. 15, 1913, at Ridgeway, the daughter of Oscar H. and Elsie Marie (Guttormson) Qualley.

She was a graduate of Cresco high School and attended Luther College for one year. She married Clarence A. Berg Dec. 31, 1933, in Mabel, Minn.

Olga worked at Anumdsen Publishing Co. in the Posten office as a publisher and as an accountant from 1947-66. She also worked at the Lawrence Press of Cedar Rapids for seven years, where she lived from 1966-79.

She also was an accountant for Berg's Plastering & Drywall in Decorah.

Olga was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary No. 1977 of Decorah. She belonged to Decorah Lutheran Church and served in church circle.

She had many hobbies, but really enjoyed sewing. Her family benefited by her crocheting abilities and received many beautiful afghans.

A willingness to share anything she had -- be it her talents, courage, honesty, her ability to always forgive and never be judgmental towards anyone is how she will be remembered, as well as for giving her life, love and compassionate understanding to her entire family. She was known to her family as "Grammy O".

Survivors include one son, Roger O. and Sharon Berg of Apache Junction, Ariz.; one daughter, Marlene L. and Lee Gearhart of Cedar Rapids; one son, Gerald P., Sr. and Joan Berg of Decorah; 11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Olga Berg was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence, who died Dec. 31, 1964; one son, Gordon Alex Berg; two grandsons, James Gordon Berg and Michael Wedo; and one great-granddaughter, Amanda Kay Berg.
