Carol is remembered as always being concerned about others more than herself, giving selflessly of her time, energy and love, and that anyone who knew her was blessed and better for that. She had a knack of making
people feel better with her kind words and empathy.

She was given three months to live back in July of 1999, but was able to see the birth of her newest grandchild, Amanda, in April.

Carol's family was always her first priority. She especially enjoyed the many trips to Rosemount and Rochester, Minn, to watch her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing with them in parks.

Survivors include her husband, Howard; their three children and five grandchildren, Christopher A. Ness of Decorah, Paul N. and Heidi Ness of Rosemount, Minn., and children Adam, Hannah and Caitlin, and Laurie and Mick Parker of Rochester, Minn., and children, Emily and Amanda; her parents, Huber and Corolla Lennon; two sisters, Judy and Dick Knutson of Onalaska, Wis., and Ellen and Rich Hoilahd of Forest Lake, Minn.; and her mother-in-law, Meta Ness of Waukon.
