Margaret J. Degreve

Margaret J. Degreve, 85, of Decorah, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Aase Haugen Home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m., at the Fjelstul Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steven Jacobsen officiating.

The Rev. Marion Miller was the organist. The congregation sang "Abide with Me" and "Beautiful Savior."

Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah. The Fjelstul Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Margaret (Fagerlie) Degreve was born Oct. 29, 1914, in Decorah, the daughter of Hans C. and Junetta (Williams) Fagerlie. She attended the Decorah School system.

She lived in New Hampton; Mount Hood, Ore.; and Spooner, Wis., moving to Decorah in 1937 and owning a gas station. She also was a housewife.

Margaret was married to Lawrence Degreve June 14, 1969, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Decorah. He died Dec. 13, 1994.

Margaret was a member of First Lutheran Church. She had been a resident at the Aase Haugen Home since Dec. 13, 1994.

Survivors include one brother, Harley Fagerlie of Decorah; one sister, Adeline Koepp of Decorah; and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret Degreve was preceded in death by two husbands; her parents; one brother, Carleton; and one sister, Delores.
