Services for Dorothy R. Snell, Burr Oak, were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 10, 1984, at the Burr Oak Methodist Church. Officiating was the Rev. David W. Ash. Burial was in the Burr Oak Cemetery. The Olson-Fjelstul Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy R. Snell, the daughter of John and Floy (Glise) Rollins, was born Feb. 21, 1909. She died Feb. 7, 1984 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

She was a graduate of Decorah High School. She married Roy Snell Feb. 21, 1934 in Calmar. They were the parents of six children.

She was an active member of the Burr Oak Methodist Church, being a trustee and Communion steward. She also served as secretary of the United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a brother and three sisters.

Surviving are five children: Marjorie Kjosa of Postville, Raymond D. Snell of Cedar Rapids, Richard Snell and Roger Snell, both of Minneapolis, MN, and Ronald Snell of Maquoketa; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
