Arnold Tieskotter
Arnold Edmund Tieskotter, 87, of Harmony, Minn., died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at the Harmony Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m., at Greenfield Lutheran Church in Harmony, with the Rev. John Haugen officiating.
Marsha Johnson was the organist. Hymns included "Amazing Grace" and solos by Nancy Evenson on "What A Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Beautiful Savior."
Casket bearers were Shawn, Jason, Keith, Brian, Andy and Jeremy Tieskotter.
Burial was at the Greenfield Cemetery. The Lindstrom Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Arnold was born Jan. 16, 1913, the son of Henry William and Clara (Shimek) Tieskotter of Decorah. He married Mildred Kobriger Dec. 26, 1942. They farmed in rural Castalia, moving to the Preston, Minn., area in 1951.
Arnold remained on the farm until 1974, when he moved to Harmony, Minn., after his retirement. He enjoyed polka dancing and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, Richard and Darlene Tieskotter of Aurora, Colo., Clair and Josephine Tieskotter of Harmony, Minn., and Bill and Mary Tieskotter of Preston, Minn.; a daughter, Jean and Bob Mullen of Auburn, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor and Elmer Slifka of Decorah.
Arnold Tieskotter was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; a son, Jim; his parents; a brother, Gordon; and a sister, Gertrude Schissel.
