Memorial services for Gottlieb Limkemann, 65, were held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 1980 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Castalia. The Rev. Curtis Webster and the Rev. August Limkemann officiated. Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
Gottlieb Limkemann, son of William and Magdalena (Feickert) Limkemann, was born Nov. 4, 1914 at Leola, S. D. He died at his home near Castalia Sept. 8, 1980.
He was baptized at a country church near Leola, S. D. He received his education there and also at Wayland, Mo.
September 10, 1940 he was untied (sic) in marriage to Ivera Viona Perry in the United Brethren parsonage at Garwin, Iowa. He worked in the Ossian and Postville area and later bought their present farm near Castalia where they have lived for 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Daniel, a sister in infancy, and a sister, Clara Kohrs.
Surviving besides his wife, are a son, Gerald, of Coggon, Iowa; a daughter, Mrs. Orval (Pauline) Leyh of Sumner, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; six brothers, Henry of Denver, Iowa; John of Marquette, Iowa; Paul of Royal Oaks, Mich.; Rev. August Limkemann of Lansing, Iowa; Joe of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and David of Waverly, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Perry of West Union, Iowa; and Mrs. Warren (Rose) Barker of Postville.
