Funeral services were held Monday, December 16, at the Schutte Funeral Home in Postville for William Limkemann, Castalia, who passed away December 11 at rural Ossian. Chaplain August Limkemann and Paul Limkemann, sons of the deceased, conducted the services. Burial was in the Pleasant Hills cemetery, Castalia.
William Limkemann, son of Henry and Mary Limkemann, was born September 29, 1883. He passed away of a heart failure on December 11, 1963 at rural Ossian.
The deceased was married to Magdalene Feickert on January 14, 1913 at Leola, South Dakota. He received his education in the elementary schools. He farmed for a number of years, retiring in 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1958; two children, Daniel and Bertha; two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include seven sons, Paul of Detroit, Michigan; August of Fort Bragg, North Caroline; John and David of Cedar Rapids; Joseph of Cedar Falls; Henry, of rural Ossian; and Gottlieb, of rural Castalia; three daughters, Clara (Mrs. Don Kohrs) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mary (Mrs. Eugene Perry) of West Union, and Rosa (Mrs. Warren Barker) of rural Ossian; three sisters; 40 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
