A funeral mass for Al Lensing of Postville, Iowa was held Tuesday, April 24, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bridget Catholic Church at Postville. He died Saturday afternoon, April 21, 1990 at his home in Postville. The Rev. Paul Otting officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Our Lady of Seven Dolors Cemetery in Festina.
Aloysius Roman Lensing, son of Aloysius and Elizabeth (Cremer) Lensing was born August 9, 1899 near Festina, Iowa. He attended Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic School at Fistina. On September 26, 1932 he was married to Agnes Gerleman at Hampton, Iowa. They farmed in the Festina area and moved to Postville in 1973.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, John, Ed, Joe, Hugo and Arthur and an infant sister, Mathilda.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes, 2 sons, Dennis Lensing of Castalia, Iowa and Lloyd Lensing of LaCresent, MN; a daughter, Marlene Pins of Decorah, and twin girls whom they also raised, Connie (Ricke) Woodson of Postville and Carmen (Ricke) Tilkes of North Washington, IA; and 3 grandchildren.
Casket Bearers were Edward, David and Michael Tilkes, Frank Woodson, Dean Gebel and Terry Bouska.
