Mary Elizabeth Russell, 65, Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Ossian, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Wellington Place, Decorah, Iowa, following a short illness. Mary was born on June 25, 1944, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital to Gustav and Julia (Tollifson) Russell.

Mary was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia, Iowa. She lived at home until the age of seven, and then resided in a care facility until her passing. She enjoyed spending time with children and all types of animals and her dolls. Mary was a joy to the many people who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her siblings, Lois Russell, Marshall, MO, Lillian (Lynn) Winters, Waukon, Gladys Little, CA, Norman D. Russell, International Falls, MN and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James Russell and Richard Russell and one sister, Joyce Webber.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Doug Bryce will officiate. Burial will follow at the Postville Cemetery in Postville, Iowa.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
