Edward Floody Services Held

Funeral services for Edward F. Floody, 66, former Castalia Postmaster, of Decorah, were held Monday, January 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the Steine Funeral Home, Decorah.

Mr. Flood died Friday, January 10, at the Winneshiek County Memorial Hospital.

C. Kent Wever conducted the services. Burial was in the St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Ossian.

Edward F. Floody, son of Henry and Beatrice Floody, was born in Bloomfield Township of Winneshiek County. He attended the Ossian De Sales Grade School and later the Castalia Public Schools.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. For 28 years he worked for the Post Office Department, and was, at the time of his retirement, Postmaster of Castalia.

On July 24, 1943, he was united in marriage to the former Gertrude Bollman of New York City.

He is survived by his wife, an employee of the Decorah Newspapers; four daughters, Mrs. Dean Buser, Mason City; and Patricia, Marsha, and Laura Floody, all at home. Other survivors include a granddaughter, Paula Buser; one brother, Leo Floody and a sister, Mary Floody, of Castalia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.
