Bernice Gertrude Kohl, daughter of Peter and Angela Baltes, was born Jan. 24, 1926 at New Prague, MN. She received her education in the country school at Union Hill, MN.

Bernice was united in marriage to James Kohl on Feb. 4, 1956 at St. Paul Cathedral in St. Paul.

She was a housewife and did some house cleaning jobs. She enjoyed reading, playing games, friends, family, and shopping.

Bernice died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000 at Fairview Ridges Hospital, Burnsville, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James who died Jan. 18, 1990, 4 brothers and one sister at birth.

Survivors include a son, David (Katie) Kohl of Rosemount, MN, a daughter Charlene (Loren) of Frankville, IA, one grandson, Jim of Frankville.

She was living with her daughter for the past two years and had lived in Iowa since 1993.

She was laid to rest January 22, 2000 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with her husband in ST. Paul. She enjoyed her friends and family in Iowa. A memorial service will be held for her on Feb. 5, 2000 with a prayer service at Frankville Presbyterian Church.
