William Joseph Panoch

William Joseph was born in Howard County to parents Frank and Barbara (Kabela) Panoch on June 10, 1905. He died on Friday, March 20, 1992. He was 86.

He attended the rural schools. On October 25, 1927 he married Rose Ann Bilek at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in Howard and Chickasaw Counties before moving to New Hampton in 1964. Joe was employed by the city of New Hampton from 1964 until his retirement.

He is survived by five sons, Leland and Ray of New Hampton, Joseph of Castalia, Donald of Fredericksburg and Ronald of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Lorrene) Scholbrock of New Hampton, and Mrs. Norman (Gigi) Wallenberg of Rochester, Minn. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Rose in 1986; one daughter, Rose Marie Blong in 1976; three sisters, Sophie Davis, Cecelia Praska and Eleanor Dusheck; and one brother, Frank.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 23 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Hampton, with Father Carl Schmitt officiating. Michael Panoch was the lector, and gift-bearers were great grandchildren. Placing the pall were granddaughters Michelle, Joe Ellen and Karen Panoch; Marilie Mai and Darla Blong.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, with grandsons William, James, Gary and Michael Panoch, Joe Scholbrock, and Dana Blong serving as casket bearers.
