Edward Preuss

Funeral services for Edward Robert Preuss, Castalia, were held at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Castalia, Saturday, March 17.

Edward Robert Preuss, son of Rudolph and Bertha (Leverenz) Preuss, was born April 14, 1899 at Elroy, Wis. He died March 14, 1979 at Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union. He was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Elroy, Wis.

January 16, 1926, he was married to Florence Schroeder at Decorah. To this union four children were born.

They farmed in the Postville-Castalia area until retiring to Castalia.

He is survived by one son, Harold of Castalia; three daughters, Juanita (Mrs. Merle Monroe) of Castalia; Ramona (Mrs. Norman Svendsen) of Ossian; Wanda, (Mrs. Robert McNally of Luana; two daughters by a previous marriage, Shirley (Mrs. Walter Jannisch) of Wheatland, Mich. and Vivian (Mrs. Ray Williamson) of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; thirty-five grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; three brothers, Hugo, Gilbert and Elmer, all of Elroy, Wisconsin and one sister, Edna (Mrs. Fritz Ott) of Wonewoc, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, one daughter and four grandchildren.

Arrangements were made by Schutte Funeral Service, Postville and burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
