Mrs. John Loven, 83, for many years a resident of Glenwood township, died last Thursday at her home in Waukon. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Alfred Bredesen, were in the the family home Sunday, April 11, & at the Glenwood Lutheran church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mary Lystad was born Dec. 29, 1864, near Olso, Norway, and came to the United States in her youth. She was married to John Loven on March 1, 1887, at the Glenwood Church. They lived on a farm in Glenwood township, retiring to Waukon 4 years ago.
Surving are her husband, 2 daughters & 6 sons: Mrs. Otto Saak, Roy Melvin, Julius, & Henry of Waukon; Mrs. Alfred Rosendahl of Decorah, & Carl of St. Louis, MO. She is also surveved by 18 grandchildren & 6 great-grand children.

Mary & John had 9 children together: Albert Herman (1887-1972), Adolph Melvin (1888-1961), Henry Rudolph (1890-1981), Anga Cornelia (1892-93), Carl Alfred (1893-1972), Julius Bernard (1895-1967), Anga Cornelia Minerva (1897-1984), Hannah Violeta "Violet" (1899-2001), & Roy Philip (1903-2000)
