Rawlings Rites
Funeral services were held in Ossian last Thursday for Myrtle Frances Rawlings, 70, of Marshalltown, who passed away August 30. Rev. Curtis H. Webster of Forest Mills E. U. B. Church officiated. Burial was made in the cemetery at Castalia.
Myrtle Frances Rawlings, 70, was born in Mitchell county May 26, 1883 and passed away August 30, 1953 at Iowa City Hospital.
She was the daughter of Henry and Rose (Baldwin) Rushman. When a young girl, she became a member of the Methodist Church. She was united in marriage to Daniel B. Curley in 1903. To this union was born a son, Daniel, of Marshalltown and two daughters who passed away in infancy. Mr. Curley died some years later. In 1915 she married George Rawlings at Clarinda. To this union was born one daughter, Janice, Mrs. Wesley Stull, of California.
Besides the two infant daughters, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers and two sisters.
She leaves to mourn her passing a son and a daughter; a grandson, Daniel Powell; a granddaughter, Judith Curley; a sister, Mrs. Ann Scully of Fargo, North Dakota, and a number of nieces and nephews.
