Funeral services for Dale Reeves were held Tuesday, June 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Montclair, CA with the Rev. Maynard Saeger and the Rev. Herbert Schulenburg, a friend of the family, conducting the service. Burial was at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, CA.
Dale Eldon Reeves was born September 29, 1916 on a farm near Castalia to Marion Earl and Altha Thornton Reeves. As a teenager he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He graduated from Castalia High School.
He was married to Rubye Marie Margaret Buddenberg August 8, 1937. Dale worked as a farmer and for Holt Dairy of Decorah until July of 1944 when the family moved to the western United States. He spent the rest of his years in all types of construction in that area and in the oil fields of Arabia during 1950-51. He was a building inspector for the City of Pomona for several years and retired due to ill health in 1977 but remained active in church activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his only brother, Kenneth. He is survived by his wife, Rubye, two daughters, Mrs. William (Judith) Soult and Mrs. Mark (Constance) Schulenburg, six grandchildren, Dale, Duane and Judith Soult and Todd, Scott and Brett Schulenburg, an aunt, Helen Mahoney, of Hastings, MN and numerous cousins.
