Services were conducted Saturday, August 8 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville for Mrs. Kenneth Green who died at her home Thursday, August 6 following a lingering illness. Father Cletus Hawes officiated at the Lutheran church due to the construction of St. Bridget's Catholic Church.

Elaine S. Green, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Stoessel, was born May 22, 1902 at Ottumwa, Iowa. She received her education at St. Joseph Academy, the College of St. Theresa, Winona, Minnesota and Iowa State College, Ames.

In 1926 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Green and they made their home near Castalia and together ran the Green Maplewood Sugar Bush.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. James Ryan of Lansing; two sons, K. Ted Green of Eldridge and Dr. E. W. Green of Indio, California; 12 grandchildren; a brother, Albert Stoessel of Ottumwa and five sisters, Loretta Stoessel of Ottumwa; Sister Mary Justin Stoessel of Rochester, Minnesota; Mrs. Jack (Theodora) Drysdale of College Park, Maryland; Mrs. Marguerite Reusch of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Frances Wahl of Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Burial was in the Postville cemetery.
