Jeannette Ihde

Jeannette Ihde, 73, of Clermont was found deceased in her home Friday, July 6, 2007. A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clermont, with Father Dale Rausch presiding. Dawn Svenson-Holland was the Lector, gift bearers were DiAnn Svenson and Ronald Ehler, and Mass servers were Matt Fassbinder and Damion Matt.

Casketbearers were Terry Nowak, Darin Svenson, Allan Baumler, Kenny Baumler, Todd Ihde, Ron Ihde, Chuck Ihde, Scott Ihde, Kevin Ihde, and Leo Schroeder, and the honorary casketbearers were her grandchildren. Interment was in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery at Ossian. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Jeannette Elizabeth (Ehler) Ihde was born June 28, 1934 to Felix and Bertha (Wenthold) Ehler in rural Winneshiek County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church at Ossian. She attended country school and then attended St. Francis De Sales Catholic School, graduating in 1952.

August 27, 1956 Jeannette was married to LeRoy Joseph Ihde at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church in Ossian, by Msgr. V. J. Peters. To this union five children were born. The family farmed near Decorah from 1956 to 1959. They moved to a farm near Castalia, where they farmed until moving to Clermont in 1978.

Jeannette was an active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clermont, the Rosary Society, and sang in the church choir. Jeannette loved to spend time with her grandchildren, socializing with her neighbors, and helping anyone who needed assistance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy; a daughter, Joyce Ann; a sister, Marlene Baumler; a nephew, Marvin Ihde; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Ehler; and brothers-in-law Don Ihde, Gary Svenson, and Kenneth Schroeder.

Surviving are four children, Jim Ihde and special friend Vicki Rohrick of Hawkeye, Loren (Rhonda) Ihde of Fayette, Michael (Amy) Ihde of West Union, and Lynnette Ihde and special friend Larry Trappe of Monona; 11 grandchildren, Krista, Nathan, Derek, Evan, Kayla, Lynnie, Breanna, Mitchell, Karlee, Zachary, and Keenan; four great-grandchildren, Destiny, Jadynn, Mason, and Aydan; two sisters, DiAnn Svenson of Decorah and Laverna Nowak of Albert Lea, MN; one brother, Ronald Ehler of Castalia, sister and brothers-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
