Mae Caroline Wolfe

Caroline Mae Wolfe, daughter of Oliver and Henrietta Penn Jagerson, was born January 24, 1905 in Decorah, Iowa. She died Monday, June 3, 1996 at Memorial Hospital in Prairie du Chien, Wis. She was 91 years old.

She married Myron Lloyd Wolfe in Decorah in 1922. They farmed for a time before moving to Luana in 1954. They operated a motel and service station. Mae also worked as a cook at the Luana school. They moved to Denver, Colorado in 1959 where she worked at Woolworths and also at the Stapleton International Airport. They later loved to Postville, where she worked as a clerk and also a cook at the Postville school. Mr. Wolfe died in 1971. She moved to the Prairie du Chien area in 1976.

Mae is survived by one son, Jerry of Prairie du Chien and a special friend, Sharon Bruehahn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Lloyd and Myron; four brothers, Roy, Lester, Harold, Francis; a half-brother, Albert and two half-sisters, Mabel and Myrtle.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 3, 1996 at the Thornburg-Hanson Funeral home in Prairie du Chien, with burial in Frankville Cemetery, Frankville, Iowa.
